A lifelong commitment to chiropractic care.
Michael's interest in chiropractic started as a teenager. Playing Rugby League and competing in Athletics, he picked up the usual run of sports injuries — and found that chiropractic treatment, above any other option, gave him the best results.
That experience shaped the direction of his studies. He completed an Anatomy Degree at the University of New South Wales in 1986, then went on to graduate from the Sydney College of Chiropractic in 1988 — the same year he founded what would become the Illawarra Chiropractic Clinic.
Michael later gained his C.C.S.P. (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician) qualification, and has maintained an active practice ever since, caring for patients from newborns through to seniors across the Dapto and Albion Park clinics.
A whole-body approach
Michael's philosophy is simple: chiropractic is not just about your back — it's about your overall health. Rather than chasing symptoms, treatment focuses on restoring normal biomechanical function to the spine and supporting the nervous system so your body can do what it's designed to do.
What your first visit looks like
Every new patient begins with an extensive history, a thorough postural and physical examination, and range-of-motion testing. Where appropriate Michael will refer you for X-rays before walking you through his findings and recommending a care plan tailored to you.
Technique selection
Michael is qualified across Diversified Adjusting, the Activator Method (AMCT), Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), the Thompson Technique, and the Impulse Adjusting Instrument — so the approach is always matched to the patient, not the other way around.
